One Poem by Viv Parks

Written in response to this month’s Special Challenge.

Lady in Red

As I lay in my bed
thoughts run through my head

Eyes wide open for I cannot sleep
Indeed I cannot even weep

Oh why did I set out on this path
I was daft to think money would ease my plight

Now I am destined to work every night
yet giving pleasure to others gives me no delight

Red is the colour that denotes my wares
yet each time I wear it I diminish my own self worth

Viv Parks enjoys responding to the poetry challenge and is delighted to have had several of her poems accepted by Nine Muses Poetry and the Hedgehog Press.
